A very Successful outreach program fiscally sponsored by Montana Conservation Elders in Montana Matters Youth Outdoor Experience.
Our mission at Montana Youth Outdoor Experience is to instill a love for conservation & the great outdoors in the children and teens of Montana. Founded in the Bitterroot Valley and inspired by a love for teaching the next generation of conservationists, protectors, stewards of the land, and outdoor enthusiasts, Montana Matters strives to educate our future generations about conservation, outdoor ethics, values, and future stewardship of wilderness, public lands, and all Montana's wilderness! Our goal is to share the multitude of outdoor opportunities with the youth of Montana while teaching kids to love, respect, and appreciate the amazing natural resources in our beautiful state. Our campers learn a wide variety of skills including but not limited to forest ecology, wildlife identification, ethical hunting, outdoor ethics and stewardship, first aid, archery, primitive weapon skills, trap shooting, and gain a deeper understanding and passion for our remarkable outdoors here in Montana. Through continued youth outdoor education, we hope to foster the next generation of leaders and stewards of this priceless gift through outdoor experiences at our educational Montana summer youth camps.
About Montana Matters
What is the Montana Matters Youth Outdoor Experience? Beginning in 2013, local hunting and conservation organizations saw a need to provide support and access to both outdoor education and outdoor experiences. Coming together the Youth Outdoor Experience (formerly Youth Expo) was born. Since then, hundreds of children and teens have attended youth camps throughout Montana at no charge.
Learning about such topics as backpacking, trap shooting, archery, wildlife conservation, fly fishing, and much, much more, these youth will become the leaders of tomorrow. Already, we have had youth return to serve as camp counselors and mentors to younger campers. Join us in supporting this great cause and help us provide more hunting, fishing, and outdoor experiences for Montana youth at Montana Camps!
